Universal Technology Solutions
Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Our Business

Universal is an Information Technology solutions provider, servicing customers located across the world.  We support our clients through their entire IT lifecycle, from concept, to strategy, advisory, plan design, implementation, and operations.  We provide a wide range of professional IT services, as well as IT asset acquisition and IT asset management solutions.

We collaborate with our coworkers, customers, and technology partners to help create a positive social impact, and operate in a more sustainable and ethical world.

Our Commitment

We commit to our customers, and to those companies for whom we are part of their supply chains, that we are dedicated to a work environment that is free from human trafficking, slavery and unlawful child labor in both our own operations and our supply chains. Our commitment to environmental and social responsibility and our respect for human rights is reflected in our business conduct, and in policies and employment practices throughout our company.

Operational Controls

We have policies and structures related to the recruitment of employees that foster high ethical standards, and communicate our company policies and codes of conduct, transparently before a candidate is hired.

After employment, we conduct ongoing updates for staff which includes training on respect for coworkers, to ensure a workplace free of harassment and unlawful discrimination.

We operate our businesses in compliance with all applicable laws, including those related to employment and labor, and to maintain lawful environmental, health and safety practices that meet or exceed all applicable laws and standards.

Risks of Modern Slavery

Due to the nature of our business, internal controls, policies, training, and selection of supplier partners that have similar commitments and controls, we consider our business to be at a low risk of modern slavery and trafficking.

Supply Chain Controls

As a global services business, we rely on strategic partnerships and we carefully select the organizations we work with.  We value our suppliers as an extension of our own capabilities to deliver technology services to our clients.  We expect our partner suppliers to operate their businesses in a manner that meets or exceeds all applicable laws and standards.

Our supplier approach ensures that our technology partners have established similar anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and controls.  We also communicate our own policies to our suppliers for their own vetting, for mutual transparency.

Supplier vetting includes:

  • Initial onboarding agreements
  • Review of code of conduct
  • Review of policies and statements
  • Periodic reviews

Focus Areas include:

  • Integrity and Ethics: including anti-corruption, fair competition, protection of information, conflicts of interest, trade laws compliance, insider trading and truthful advertising and marketing practices
  • Human Rights, Labor Laws and Fair Labor Practices: which includes promoting a work environment and supply chain that are free from human trafficking, slavery and unlawful child labor, and that do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, marital status, pregnancy or any other characteristic protected by law
  • Environmental Responsibility: Managing business in a manner that minimizes adverse impact on the environment; promoting the protection and improvement of the environment; promoting an employee culture of social responsibility in their day-to-day jobs; and working with partners and suppliers that are equally committed to global sustainability efforts
  • Professional Conduct: which affirms that we will not engage with any company that tolerates any form of harassment, both internally and with external parties
